1. MendoNet was designed from the ground up to be a totally integrated global venue information system for Mendocino County. Construction began in October, 1995. 2. MendoNet has been on-line for over three years (since 29 May 96), and has long since outgrown it's startup status. We have lots of traffic and nine thousand hours of experience directly related to the MendoNet System, coupled with programming experience going back to 1966. 3. MendoNet is housed on a world-class server located on five DS-3 Internet backbones for incomparable accessability and speed. This is the equivalent to over 140 regular T-1 size access lines. If you have any doubts about the signifigance of using a World Class server, take a few minutes to peruse the demo's found on my download calculator page. It does make a big difference. 4. MendoNet System traffic is logged, and system clients can monitor their traffic. MendoNet has sent off millions of files and continues to grow monthly as new sites are added, and site registration continues to expand our global presence. 12,265 visitors were logged into the Real Estate directories alone during the 12 months ending 30 November, 1999.
Go ahead and giv'er a spin! Punch in you name and see what comes up. You may be surprised. The thing is, only linked and hosted clients ultimately get all the traffic! That's how it works!
6. While the Real Estate directories certainly provide ancilliary traffic for your site, the galleria concept exposes your site to all kinds of traffic coming in from all over the whole system. With stand alone site, you will not have this valuable advantage of all this extra 'free' additional exposure for your website. 7. Only MendoNet has Book'em Dano!©. That's because I wrote it! It is the most comprehensive Mailing List Management System available anywhere, bar none. With Book'em Dano!© you can update your listings from any computer in the world with internet access (Tier Six). Tier Five linked sites will have this capability by 1 February, 2000. 8. The MendoNet System webmaster has full access to administer the configurations for the system. Any interactive forms related to your site are programmed to be referrer specific for added security, and required fields are programmed to your specification. 9. Both frames and nonframes versions are available to satisfy the personal preferences of your visitors. While the browser log speaks to widespread frames viewing capability, there is still a lot of traffic going to the non-frames version. Even though this is twice the work, this system friendliness encourages repeat visits, while virtually doubling your exposure to search engines and their robots (we call'em 'bots', pronounced bahts). This is a good thing :-) 10. Directories are greatly enhanced by incorporating "hot-spot" imagemaps and java script updating in the browser status bar. You can "drive" your mouse on the map and click on destinations as you travel. Imagemap "hot-spots" are assigned on a first come, first served basis. Those indicated as being 'Reserved for' are temporary placeholders, and are available. 11. Price point is a term normally associated with different levels of service. We have six service tiers within the system, but the cost for basic hosting has remained the same, in spite of all the additional features and traffic which has been developed in the last three years. The primary goal from the outset was to provide a world class global venue for the one man shop, as well as the big guys, for a dollar a day. This we have done, and we're sticking to it!
12. Your site doesn't have to be dull. Fast & clean, but not dull. Whatever is right for your site ... there are no two alike! Here is a working example of an available Java© applet. | |||
