Engineer Castle BrassEngineer Castle Brass stories long & short ...
from Vets around the world

Welcome one and all. There are two kinds of folks reading these stories. Those that have "been there, done that", and those that were impacted by the wars in Viet Nam, Korea, the Gulf War, and the biggie, World War II. That is to say that every beating heart in the U.S. has known war from sometime in their lives, either directly or indirectly.

We send our fathers, sons, mothers, and daughters to far away lands and pray for their safe return. These are their stories. Be prepared; you will laugh, and you will cry, and if you are not careful, you will be late for work. Thanks for visiting and God Bless.

Notes: This site is brand new and I wanted to get it up and started, so I haven't yet read all the stories to get the unit designation, hence the dash (-) in the unit column. I'll get to it ... you can help. Most of the stories above came from a fellow tenant at Tay Ninh Base Camp in Tay Ninh Province, Viet Nam, the 187th Assault Helicopter Company. Mike Hodges (Rat38) has done a marvelous job on their site, and is well worth the visit.

Naturally, I want to get some stories from the 588th and hopefully some from the 388th ... well get'em; just takes a little time. At the same time, I would like to link to or post stories from your experiences, regardless of unit or war. If your story is posted somewhere, please email me with the link to where it can be found. If you have a story but your unit does not yet have a web site, email it to me as a text file attachment, and I will store it on the MendoNet server until your unit gets a site.

NOTICE: The stories linked from this web page are the intellectual properties' of the authors. Assume copyright protection under Title 17 U.S.C. and the Berne Convention international copywrite treaty. Contact the author or the webmaster where you find the page if you want to reproduce any of the above linked stories. It is always better to ask so it dosen't come back and bite you in the butt. Most authors would be delighted to give you permission as long as the stories are not edited, and proper credit is given to the author. As to MendoNet, almost all of the 700 pages are copywrited except the telecom glossary.
