Editors Note: For the time being, I will post email messages here so you may be able to connect with your old buddies from the past. As this section evolves, I will build a bulletin board with perhaps a dedicated search engine if it gets large enough.

For starters, my name is Jon Hollcraft, and I was in HHC 588th Combat Engineer Battalion in from March '68 to Feb'69'. I consider this section to be the most important part of this site and is the primary reason I have thrown my hat into the ring so to speak, to enable us to reconnect, get together, heal, or whatever you find usefull. I presently live up in the woods of northwestern California, and have sporadic contact with Paul Luers and Wayne C. Rushing, whom I consider lifetime friends. I hope you can find some of your old friends here. I'll post your email here ... you never know who might show up! All The Best To You, and God Bless

Subject: 588th Engineer Battalion Alumni Organizer Date: Sun, 7 Sep 1997 00:11:18 -0500 From: "Bayham, Robert CPT--4ID ENG" bayhamr@hood-emh3.army.mil To: 588th@mendonet.com Welcome from the Lonestar Battalion. I am Captain Robert Bayham, Commander of Alpha Company, 588th Engineer Battalion. I searched this index several months ago and did not see a listing for the 588th. I was prepared to become the alumni organizer for the 588th but I see that you are already listed. How long have you been the organizer? When were you assigned to this great battalion? I have much to discuss with you if you have the time. :> Lonewolf 6

Welcome from the 588th Engineer Battalion at Ft Hood Texas. The 588th is still alive and well. We are starting a alumni group that you may be interested in. Jon Hollcraft, HHC/588th is the alumni organizer. He may be able to help you find Larry Short. I will send him your message. Jack L. Carrow Co. 588th Engineer Bn, 20th Engineer Brigade Tay nang (I don't think I spelled right) 1967 to 1968. I was a combat Medic. We were based at the Black Virgn Mountain. I would like to hear from Larry Short who also was a Medic and anyone else who may remember me. I found Kenneth Fulton's wife and mother. Kenny was killed in Vietnam. It has taken a long time to heal and now I think I am ready to talk.

(Ed. note: I will be building a special page dedicated to those who lost their lives during the massacre that night atop Nui Ba Den. We had both medics and radio operators stationed up there at the time. I was in HHC commo that night.)
